The best outfit for public speaking

When “speech day” nears, I’m often asked about what someone should wear.

The truth is, that clothing can be a distraction – to us!

My tip? Wear something that sparks the confidence and comfort in you that you’re hoping to convey to your audience. Keep in mind that certain prints may distort on video, and if your shirt has words on it, people are going to want to read it (which can make for a great icebreaker!).

Wearing something just because it’s “professional” does nothing for us if we don’t feel good wearing it. Put on what makes you feel your best and get ready to seize the day!
